ROEL Progresses on Construction of Quechan Casino Resort 

Fort Yuma Indian Reservation, CA… ROEL Construction is progressing on new construction of the Quechan Casino Resort located on the Fort Yuma Indian Reservation in California . Upon completion, this 295,000-square-foot design/build project will boast the largest convention and entertainment venue in the area. The impressive Mediterranean design captures tribal influences throughout and will contain a 166-room hotel complex, 33,000-square-foot gaming area, two restaurants, a sports bar as well as offer guests a lazy river pool, health facility, 1,200 person concert venue and surface parking to accommodate up to 1,700 cars and recreational vehicles. A water treatment and wastewater treatment facility will also be provided onsite. Construction is scheduled to complete in spring 2009.

Mike Jackson Sr., Charles B. Montague Sr., Brian Golding Sr., and Felix Montague are representatives for the Quechan Indian Tribe . Scott Christensen, Steve Jones and Adam Bock of Cumming Corporation are the construction manager. Bob Dollar leads the team at the Friedmutter Group for the architectural and interior design. Other members of the design team include GSSI Structural Engineers, Dahl, Robins & Associates, JBA Consulting, Orness Design Group Inc., MPE Engineering, Walsh Engineering, Casino Food & Beverage Solutions, The Lifestyle Companies, Endelman & Associates Inc., John Levy Lighting Productions Inc., Rolf Jensen & Associates, Veneklasen Associates, and Square Peg Design . ROEL representatives include Wayne Hickey and Pat Stark as project executives, Brent Hughes as group manager, Jarrod Smith as project manager, Steve Fruitman as assistant project manager, Juan Romero as project engineer, Vic Johnson, Bob Oostra, Bob Blew, Dan Drakeley, Tim Godinez and Brandon Brooke as superintendents, with Carol Maniglia as senior project coordinator, Andrea Newell and Andrea Eddington as administrative assistants.

Subcontractors for the project include California Comfort Systems, Clear Solutions Engineering Inc., Collins Plumbing, Convergent Inc., Desert Road Builders, Devco Engineering Inc., Fencing by SK. LLC, Neal Electric, Pacific Coast Iron, Quality Cabinets & Fixtures, Raymond Interior Systems and Western Fire Protection .
